Having received commendations for the introduction of the electronic vessel monitoring systems among other landmark technological innovations in Ghana’s fisheries sector, the Fisheries Commission (FC) has made another giant step in mainstreaming ICT in data collection.

The FC has introduced an online software application for data collection, kobotoolbox, as part of efforts to ensure accurate data collection and inputting. Selected Zonal officers from all the ten regions were brought together in Kumasi from 18th – 20th august, 2016 for training on the use of tablets for data collection.

Questionnaires for a number of forthcoming surveys have been coded into the tablets and pre-tested for the survey.
