Prof Mills College of Fisheries takes off in October


 

atta-millsThe first fisheries college in Ghana sited at Buranamua, near Anomabo in the Central Region, will admit its first batch of students this October the Vice President Mr Kwesi Bekor Amissah Arthur has announced.Named the John Evans Atta Mills College of fisheries it is a tribute to the late president of his commitment to its establishment and bison to accelerate the     transformation of the fisheries sub-sector.

The college, affiliated to the University of Cape Coast would province professional and technical training to practitioners in the fishing training who will in turn managed the country’s fisheries resources and other related areas.

It would also provide in service training for practitioners in the fisheries sector non-tertiary certificate (vocational) coursed for JHS graduates and diploma programmes in Fisheries, Aquaculture and Extension for SHS graduates, among other programmes.
